Exit Audit Mode
How to Exit Audit Mode
If you are having unsuccessful attempts at exiting audit mode and getting "fatal error messages", the following is what I did that worked:
Type regedit in the windows search bar and press enter.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SYSTEM>Setup>Status.
By clicking on the "Status", you will see a registry key item called "AuditBoot." This value should be changed to 0. For my system I had the value at 1 when I couldn't get it out of Audit mode. I looked at the value differences of this item between my other computer and the one I had the issue with and this was the value that needed to change. By changing this value, the sub keys of Status will (should) automatically change. Hope this helps anyone struggling with this issue.
